Grab All My Lessons Learned From 10 Years in Business-- And LEAP Over Years of Struggle and Pain!
This month marks 10 years that I’ve been in business.
I remember clear as day hanging up my proverbial shingle in October 2001—never, ever expecting that the road would be so winding, weird and knotty!
What have I learned in 10 years?
- Nothing beats working for yourself. Except having others work for you!
- Plans blow up in mid-course more times than you could ever count. If you need plans to work out in order to keep sane, either enroll in a psychiatric institution now or go back to work for someone else.
- There is NO need to attend personal growth seminars. Just go into business—it will sharpen your emotional strength like no firewalks, ropes courses or board-breaking will ever do.
- How you do life is how you do business. If that’s a good thing, great. If it’s not—keep watch of your habits and change them, fast.
I could go on and on.
And actually I have–in the document available on the right side of this page: What I Know For Sure: Lessons Learned in 10 Years of Business.

Congratulations on your 10 years in business – that is remarkable and understandable because of who you are – you really are the best! Thank you for your gifts and the value!

Great report, Lizabeth! Useful, concise, loaded with wisdom…just the kind of valuable information everyone has come to expect from you. Great advice for anyone starting out, or for those who have not quite “made it” yet and are looking for some suggestions on how to get from “here: to “there.” My personal favorite bit of advice, and one of the guiding principles throughout my career: “Go not where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”
