What do you do, in a nutshell?

How are you different from other public speaking consultants?

Other consultants in this field focus on platform skills—i.e. how you can look and sound good. These are not unimportant factors, but I move speakers and presenters far beyond platform skills into the cutting-edge science and psychology of "audience leadership."

Getting results from an audience isn’t about you and your platform skills. It’s about the audience—and their ability to learn fast, be fully enrolled in your vision, and eager to take action to implement it.

Accomplishing this level of audience leadership requires advanced skills. With me, you learn: a) how to teach, based on research from the latest in brain science and educational science; b) how to influence, based on the latest research from psychology, sociology and biology; and c) how to inspire action, based on tools, techniques and skills from the coaching field.


You have a 2-hour training where you tell the audience, “Nobody does this stuff”—referring to the techniques you teach. That’s a pretty big claim. People could easily think you’re exaggerating. Are you?

I’m a writer, a wordsmith. I choose every single word I say and write very carefully. Everyone who knows me personally knows that I say exactly what I mean, all the time. Even in arguments. I am microscopically precise when it comes to the words I choose. I never say anything I don’t mean.

So, when I tell people that “nobody does this stuff,” I mean it. When the banner of my website says we create a “new breed” of speaker and presenters, I mean it. When I say they are “untouchable”—I mean it.

A recent student of mine, after completing some training with me, brought that comment up as we were stepping into an elevator. “I took your training because I trusted you--but when you said, ‘Nobody does this,’ I totally thought you were exaggerating. It’s not possible that you teach things nobody does--but after learning all of this, applying it, and then going to see dozens of other talks, presentations and seminars…I can tell you, Lizabeth: Nobody does this.”

If, after working with me, anyone thinks I’ve exaggerated that claim, I’ll be more than happy to make amends!


How is it possible that “Nobody does this”?

Because they haven’t been exposed to this kind of understanding and because they’re entrenched in traditional methodologies. At my 2-hour Secrets of Impact & Influence training, I say that we’re all “under the influence of strong, archaic, cultural conditioning that destines us to be ineffective presenters. We don’t recognize this conditioning because it’s the water we swim in. The only way out is to see the conditioning —and I pull the curtain aside at the 2-hour event—and then leave it behind once and for all.

Once we've left it, we enter a New Paradigm, with a whole new breed of speakers and presenters who have advanced skills and new conditioning. Actually, I shouldn’t even call them speakers and presenters because it’s Old Paradigm terminology. I tell my audiences in the 2-hour event, “In the New Paradigm, you aren’t a speaker, or a presenter, or a seminar leader. You are much, much more. You are a ___.”

So, that’s the best answer I have for why “nobody does this.” How can you do what you don’t know?


What exactly is “Old Paradigm” speaking?

I hate to sound obtuse, but—everything you see is Old Paradigm. From the mindnumbingly boring presenters we see too often, to the most seasoned. The most experienced may look good up there: know how to use their voices, move correctly, tell good stories, make strong eye contact. But they aren’t trained in teaching skills or the psychology of audience influence, and are still affected by Old Paradigm conditioning.

So, the “New Breed” in the New Paradigm can teach and influence?

Yes, they are “learning experts,” who know how to uniquely sequence their talks, presentations and seminars and “talk to the brain,” so that audiences stay attentive, learn fast, remember long, and much more.

They are “influence experts,” who know how to generate powerful affinity with and among their audiences; how to generate coveted intrinsic motivation; buy-in for unpopular ideas; excitement no matter how dry the material; word-of-mouth fervor, and much more.

They are “results experts” who know how to ensure comprehension of material; elicit commitments from audiences; dramatically increase action, and much more.


Are you saying even experienced speakers and presenters can get value from your material—even the ones who are already highly respected, have large followings, and generally great reputations?

That’s what I’m saying.

I find that experienced speakers get this look in their eye whenever I suggest that I can help them. It’s like their lover’s just told them they have something that can improve their sex-life. “What’s wrong with our sex-life?” they demand, suddenly threatened. When we’ve done anything for a while with any success, we can get a little touchy about anyone suggesting that we could improve.

But fundamentally, I’m not suggesting that the presenter could improve (though often they can); I’m suggesting that the results they get can improve—with advanced knowledge of teaching and of the psychology of influence.

Even the most experienced lovers can improve their results. It’s one of those areas with unlimited growth potential. The best ones aren’t threatened by new lotions and potions; they jump on them, eager to go where others fear to tread.
